Celebrations are an integral part of a Bengalis life. The famous adage : Baro mashe tero parbon describes the life cycle of a true Bengali. Here in Sweden, we attempt to celebrate as many festivals and occasions in the Bengali calendar. Our attempt to keep in touch with our cultural roots also helps the young generation get a flavour of their traditions.

Durgotsav
Thakur thakbe kotokhon....
The biggest event in our annual calendar. We wait all year round to welcome Maa Durga in Helsingborg for 2 days in Autumn. Taking time out from our hectic schedules, we start planning 3 months ahead for this gala event. Do come and join us as we celebrate the victory of good over evil and worship the Mother Goddess.
Nababarsha

New year is a not only a time for ceneration but also looking back on the year gone by. The weather may not be typical hot and sultry in Helsingborg, but nonetheless , we attempt to recreate Bangaliana through our Nbabarsha celebration. With authenic Bengali food and the quintessential Bengali adda, we welcome the New year.
Independence Day

Independence day is a big day in our calendar as we commemorate those freedom fighters, who through their unswerving dedication laid down their lives to make India free. We Bengalis have contribute much to the freedom struggle. So, as proud Indians, we make this a special event in our annual calendar.
